About me
Who I am and what I do.
Who I am
I'm Noemi, a UI/UX and Product Designer from Mexico 🇲🇽. With a background in Computer Science and Marketing, I enjoy creating digital products that balance user needs, business goals, and a bit of creativity.
Where I'm From
I was born in Merida and raised in Cancún, Mexico. Growing up near the Caribbean Sea was great, although I probably spent more time eating seafood than actually swimming in the ocean.
What I Used to Do
I've always been a curious person. Growing up, I bounced between hobbies like writing, playing guitar, stargazing, editing videos, translating manga, and creating fictional worlds.
That curiosity eventually led me to design my first website mockup in Photoshop when I was around twelve years old.
Before finding product design, I worked in a call center, as a cashier, as a sous-chef (long story), and spent years repairing computers and providing technical support.
Before Computer Science, I studied Marketing and had the opportunity to work at 1 Simple Idea. There, I contributed to digital marketing projects and got an inside look at how Mexican indie games were developed through 1 Simple Game.
What I Do Now
Today, I'm finishing my Computer Science degree and pursuing a career in Product Design.
These days I work as a freelance product designer, partnering with different startups and founders to bring their ideas to life from early concepts to polished UI kits. I love the variety: every project means a new industry, a new problem to untangle, and a new team to learn from.
I also enjoy participating in hackathons. So far, that journey has taken me to national finals, regional competitions, and a lot of sleepless nights.
I love hackathons and collaborative challenges. My team earned 2nd place nationally at HackaTec 2025, but I'm just as passionate about helping others create. That's why I've helped organize Tucanthon, a student hackathon focused on creativity and learning, and why I'm currently helping revive Koder Garden, a community where students can build projects and grow together.
What I'm Looking For
Purposeful work, difficult problems, and talented people.
Wherever I go next, my goal is simple: bring my best work, keep learning, and create things with intention.
